Canaries win Gold!

The CVC Canaries won Gold in the Silver division of the CHRVA 12 Regionals on Saturday, April 10, 2010. The Canaries lost only 1 game the entire day and finished with a 12-1 record to capture the division.

Canaries Host Columbia 12 Invitational

The Canaries hosted the Columbia 12 Invitational on March 7, 2010 at the Volleyball House.

The day started with the Canaries splitting the first two sets with the Charles County Alley Cats, losing the first set 25-19 and winning the second set 25-15. Catie Chervenak paced the Canaries in the first set providing a 9-0 service run which included one ace and one kill. Kaitlin Donovan (3 aces) provided a 7-0 service run in the second set to give the Canaries a 16-8 lead. Valen Johnson (2 aces) added one kill during Donovan’s run. Rachel Mathew finished off the set with a 5-0 service run which included an ace at set point.

Canaries Place 4th in Silver Bracket

The Canaries placed fourth in the Silver Bracket of the Capitol Hill Classic the weekend of February 13-15, 2010 at the Washington D.C. Convention Center.

The Canaries played inspired volleyball on the second day of the tournament defeating Valley Forge 12 Red and MAVBC 12 South to win their pool and qualify for the Silver Bracket on the tournament’s final day.
