NCAA Recruiting

This page is designed to provide information to anyone who wants to pursue playing volleyball in college. The page contains links to major sites that deal with the NCAA process as well as getting your information out to college coaches.  You are highly encouraged to read the 2007/2008 NCAA Recruiting Regulations which detail how coaches and student-athletes are allowed to interact over the course of their High School careers.

NCAA 2007/08 Guide for the College-Bound Student-Athlete (A MUST Read)

NCAA Clearinghouse (recommend you register at the beginning of your Junior year and then keep updated - read the above NCAA guide first)

American Volleyball Coaches Association (good site to see volleyball rankings of all DI, DII, and DIII schools)

Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference

College Coaches Online

Here are some other recommended women's volleyball websites:

University Athlete (http://www.universityathlete.com) -  This company provides the Palm software that players and parents see college coaches using to recruit at large tournaments and national qualifiers. The ability for players to enter a player profile (which they continue to update as often as they want/need), search for college programs, contact coaches, etc. is all FREE! There is also the option to add video that can be previewed by college coaches for a nominal fee (that is good as long as the player is a recruitable athlete, not a yearly fee). Also, since this information is what college coaches get in their Palms, it's THE recruiting software utilized by coaches of all levels (DI, DII, DIII, NAIA, JuCo) across the country. Therefore, if a player only chooses one place to make their information available (and keep it current) for recruiting purposes, UA is the place to do it!

RECRUITING REGISTRY (http://www.RecruitingRegistry.com) - allows you to attract the attention of college recruiters.  Entering your club and high school volleyball experience as well as your educational and personal information into an online database allows college recruiters to review your bio to see if you match their needs. Also included on the site is a valuable FAQ section with very useful hints, tips and links to assist you through your recruiting experience.  Over 5000 student athletes have registered for this site since its development in 2001, and over 1000 college volleyball recruiters have registered to view your information. This site is totally free to both athletes and recruiters.   More information on how you can use this site is available at: http://www.RichKern.com/vb/Register/RecruitingRegistry.html

RICHKERN.COM (http://www.RichKern.com) - includes constantly updated school and volleyball webpage links, coaches' email addresses, scores, team rankings and MUCH MORE to help you decide which schools may best match your skills and desires as your research your future college volleyball opportunities. This site has been around since 1999 and its useful historical data can help you evaluate trends on whether teams are improving or not. The cost of a subscription to RichKern.com is $25/year.  You can sign up for a free trial subscription and have full access to the site to allow plenty of time to determine if you think it is worth paying the annual membership.
