Greg Giovanazzi

Coach
Giovanazzi has been playing and coaching at the International and Collegiate
level for over thirty years. He spent his college years at UCLA. As a
player he was a 3-time All American, won a National Championship, and
represented the United States on the US Junior National Team in 1977, the
Pan American, and World University Games in 1983. He also spent two years
in the Italian Professional League. Greg’s coaching career began at UCLA
where he spent 10 years as an assistant coach, working with teams that
appeared in 6 final fours and won 3 NCAA championships. In 1992, Greg
coached the US Women’s Olympic team to a Bronze Medal finish in Barcelona.
He coached the Women’s National Team to a Bronze Medal in 1990 and a Silver
Medal in 1994. Between 1992 and 2005, he served as the head coach at the
University of Michigan, Loyola College of Maryland, and UMBC. During his
tenure as a coach, he has worked with over 40 All Americans and 25
Olympians. During the span of his career, Greg has published over 40
articles for various volleyball publications and continues to work with the
USAV in their CAP. |

Mike Bossom

Mike Bossom, one of the most successful high school volleyball coaches in
Maryland, took over Goucher's Division III women's program in July 2006.
Before joining Goucher's coaching staff, Bossom had coached the girls
volleyball team at Centennial High School in Ellicott City, Md.since 1994.
During his 12 seasons there, he guided the Eagles to 214 wins and eight
state championships, including five consecutive titles starting in 1996.
Bossom was recognized twice during his run at Centennial as All-Met Coach of
the Year by both The Baltimore Sun and Washington Post,
and more than two dozen of the players he coached went on to play the sport
at the collegiate level.
In addition, Bossom spent more than two years as the head coach of the U.S.
Men's Standing Disabled Team, which placed fourth under his direction at the
1998 World Championships in Olstyn, Poland, and is into his second decade
working with the Columbia (Md.) Volleyball Club. |

All met 2 years (junior and senior year)
Captain junior and senior year.
-sophomore year- Broke my Fibula requiring 2 surgeries and a plate and 8
screws to patch it together, keeping me out of 2 seasons of club.
COLLEGE
-recruited to UMBC by Greg Giovanazzi.
Able to play 2 seasons with older sister Megan Gross.
Played OH freshman year. Lead team in kills as freshman against #5 team
Penn State. 10 starts and 18 matches played in rookie season.
-Sophmore year, switched to DS due to shoulder injury and to utilize my
passing and defensive skills more. Started in 11 matches and played 22
overall.
Junior year- Played in 4 matches as a DS then fell and tore my ACL/Menscus
completely. Missed the rest of the season.
Senior year- Coming back from the injury, Just started to play for the
first time during preseason, worked hard and was able to contribute as
much as possible the first month of season. Missed all of October because
I had another surgery on my knee to fix something from the first. Worked
hard that month and was able to come back the last month as teams Libero
averaging 5 dpg. Recorded career high of 29 digs against Navy.
COACHING
-1st year of coaching- 2006/07 season with Kenney Mills, and Greg
Giovanazzi for 14-1 Condors.
-Currently in 2nd season of coaching for CVC.

McLaughlin

Coach McLaughlin has been
Head Coach of the Columbia Volleyball Club since 1996. He has coached 16, 17
and 18 & under teams at the Columbia Volleyball Club since November 1995. In
1999, he coached the 17 & under team that won the Chesapeake Region and went
to Nationals in New Orleans. His 2004 17 & under team went to Nationals in
Houston, Texas. He coached Baltimore Juniors volleyball teams between 1992
and 1995. He has been Head Coach of Hammond High School Varsity since 1994.
Coach McLaughlin is CAP II certified by USAV. |

Coach Campbell has been a volunteer Assistant Varsity Coach at Hammond High
School since the Fall of 1998. He was Assistant Coach for the Columbia Stars
in 1999 and Assistant Coach for the Eclipse since 2000. Coach Campbell is
Impact and CAP I Certified by USAV. |

Coach of the Comets since 2004. Previously he coached for the Outsiders
Volleyball Club in Prince Georges County. Mark was the varsity volleyball
coach for Gwynn Park High School. Currently, he is the head coach for the
Howard Community College volleyball team.

Michael Moynihan

This is Coach Moynihan’s second season of coaching with the Columbia
Volleyball Club. He is currently the Varsity coach at Mt. Hebron High
School, where he has coached since 2001. His 2002 Varsity team placed 2nd
in the Maryland State tournament, and Coach Moynihan was named Metro Coach
of the Year. Prior to Mt. Hebron, Coach Moynihan coached at Western
Technical High School in Baltimore for 5 years and Air Force Base teams for
7 years prior to that. Coach Moynihan is a special education teacher at Mt.
Hebron High School. |

Monica McLaughlin
Coach
McLaughlin has been playing or coaching volleyball since 1992. She played
for Columbia Volleyball Club for 8 years and for Hammond High School for 4
years. Coach McLaughlin went on to play at Salisbury University and was a
member of the 2000 Capital Athletic Conference Championship team. This is
her third season coaching the Thunder 16's regional team. Coach McLaughlin
is a fourth grade teacher at Talbott Springs Elementary School.

Young

Coach Young played for Columbia Volleyball Club from 13-17 years old (condors,
storm, thunder, and eclipse). She was the Assistant Coach at Mary Baldwin College in Staunton VA, which
at that time the team made it
to the NCAA playoffs for the first time in the program's history.
In 2006, Coach Young was the 16's National Head Coach at Charlottesville, VA Area
Volleyball Club (CAV).
In 2007, she was the 17 National Head Coach for CAV.
Coach Young also coached a 50 and over USAV women's team in 2003.

Head Coach Kenny Mills

Coach Mills is a UMBC Men’s Volleyball Club team alumni
and is now coaching for Columbia Volleyball Club for his fourth season. He
has been Head Coach for the Lightning 16’s in 2003-04, Storm 15’s in 2005-06
and Assistant Coach to Greg Giovanazzi with the Condors 14’s National team
in 2006-07. Currently, he is Head Varsity Coach at Mount de Sales Academy in
Catonsville, where he started coaching in 2000. He was Assistant Coach to
the 2001 IAAM B Conference Championship team and took over as Head Coach in
2003. His 2004 and 2005 Varsity teams have placed 2nd in the IAAM
A Conference finals and 2nd in the MD/DC State Private School
Championships in 2005. His teams have reached the semi-finals in 2003, 2006
and 2007, and have ranked in the 2007 season as high as 4th in
The Baltimore Sun paper’s polls. Coach Mills is IMPACT certified by the USAV
and is a Kindergarten Teacher at The Goddard School in Marriottsville, MD.

Assistant Coach Ophelia Tindall
Ophelia will be starting her 4th season with CVC this year. She coached 15
Nationals her first year and 14 Nationals her second and third year all with
Head Coach Michael Bossom. She also was a volunteer assistant in 2004 for
Centennial High School and 2007 for Goucher College. She played 5 years of
club with Time Out and 4 years of Varsity volleyball at Howard High School.

Coach Schofield
has been associated with the Columbia Volleyball Club since 1996. He has
coached the 14s, 16s, and 18s as both a head coach and an assistant. He is
currently the head coach of the Eagles. Coach Schofield began his coaching
career at Centennial High School as the JV coach, a position he still
holds. He is also an assistant coach for wrestling and softball. Coach
Schofield is CAP I, II, and Impact certified. |

This is Leanna's fourth year
coaching for Columbia Volleyball Club, and her first year coaching the 14
National Team. The previous three years, she was an assistant coach for the
14 Regional Team. Prior to coaching, she played for Columbia Volleyball Club
for 6 years and for Centennial High School for 4 years. She just graduated
from the University of Maryland at College Park with a degree in cell
biology.

Olivia Kelly
This is Olivia's fourth year coaching for Columbia
Volleyball Club, and her first year coaching the 14 National Team. The
previous three years, she was an assistant coach for the 14 Regional Team.
Prior to coaching, she played for Columbia Volleyball Club for 6 years and
for Centennial High School for 4 years. She just graduated from the
University of Maryland at College Park with a degree in French. She plans to
start graduate school and the University of Maryland in the fall.

Coach Moy has been coaching for CVC since 2002. He began coaching several
years ago for Wilde Lake High School at the Junior Varsity and Varsity
levels. He then took a brief three year hiatus from coaching before he
applied for the Freshmen Volleyball Coach vacancy at Centennial High School.
He now has six years of CHS Freshmen coaching under his belt. Coach Moy has
also played USAV volleyball at the B and BB levels (when it was "USVBA") and
has been CAP I and Impact certified by the USAV. |

Murduck

This is Coach Murduck's first year with CVC, however,
she has been coaching club volleyball teams at the high school, college and
adult levels since 1984, and has also coached high school in California and
Maryland, and is currently the JV coach for Mt. Hebron High School. Coach
Murduck was also head coach for Athletes in Action 1988, where she led a
team throughout Bolivia and Peru for a summer of competitive college-level
tournaments. Coach Murduck played Open club volleyball for several years and
competed for nearly 15 years in semi- and pro-beach volleyball both in the
midwest and Southern California. She is Impact and Gold Medal Squared
Certified. |
