The Columbia Stars headed into their regional tournament refreshed and ready to go after a long break from their last tournament. The day started off with a tough lost to MVSA INFERNO (13-25, 26-28). It was followed by a split with FAVOR THRASHERS (10-25, 25-13). At this point, things did not look good as it appeared the Stars were looking at an early day. However, after a little talk from the coaches and determination not seen before from them, the team came back in the afternoon with a split against CECIL 18 BLACK (25-21, 23-25) and a win against TOVBC DELMARVA Jr. 18 (25-6, 25-12). This earned the Stars a tie for second place against CECIL which they won 25-19. In the semi-finals, they faced off against ICHABAN VA 18-2 NINJA (25-20, 25-21). After this victory, they were up against MVSA INFERNO. In an exciting three game set, the Stars came away victorious (18-25, 25-21, 15-10) to come away with their third medal of the year. To say one person stood out would be unfair. Throughout the whole day, each player was able to make outstanding plays at the right time to propel them-self and their team to the championship level they deserve. It was an enjoyable day which couldn't have been done without hard work from the players and the large cheering section from our devoted parents.
