Condors Off to a
Fresh Start
For what many a
weary parent thought, January 7 was way too early for a tournament, wasn’t
it? Perhaps so, but the Condors were ready to play and work out the early
season kinks right along side of the first tournament jitters! What was
intended to be an 8-team tournament turned out to be a single pool 4-team
match up; another testament to the early season timing. Even so, the new
Condors faired very well, tying records in a game-play pool at 7-2 with a
team from Virginia. With no play-offs, a slow start that morning let a game
go that would be the deciding heads-up victory; one that resulted in a
silver medal finish! Not too bad for the first time out, indeed. Nicely
done, ladies. |

| Condors Continue to Finish Well
As of this posting; six tournaments, five medals; the most recent in
GOLD! It has been a tremendous season so far for the Condors. Players,
coaches and parents alike have covered a lot of ground from the Volleyball
House in Elkridge to Fairfax, VA to King of Prussia, PA and back again.
Great teamwork has resulted in regular trips to the semi-finals and, in all
but one case, a trip to the medal round. There is no doubt that superb
coaching from Coach Greg, Kenny and Marisa has helped to mold the Condors
into a group of players and friends that have a ball both on and off the
court.
All of the stars seemed to align just right not only for our team, but
for the club this past weekend as each team that played – Eagles 13’s,
Condors 14’s, Storm 15’s and Lightning 16’s – took first place in their
respective tournaments. Add to that, the Cardinals 14’s took the Gold in the
Silver division that same weekend! Congratulations to everyone! Well done. |
