Canaries Win Gold! The Columbia Canaries won the gold medal in the MVSA Invitational 12’s Volleyball Tournament on March 19, 2005, winning 4 of their 5 matches they played. Outstanding serving, good defensive play, excellent passing and solid hitting gave the Canaries a winning edge over their competitors. Highlights of the day included an exciting come from behind win over a very good NVVA Fairfax team in the finals. Trailing 24-22 in the second game of the finals, the Canaries served four straight aces to win the match, 26-24. It was a great team effort. Way to go, Canaries!

Thanks to Susan Wiggs for volunteering to serve as the Canaries Parent Representative! The Canaries regularly scheduled practice days are Thursday from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, and Sundays from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.
